SILVIA FINIELS
​Glass Designer

Born in Paris, Silvia Finiels studies Fashion and Fabric Design in Lyon. She starts working in Paris in the field of fashion, in particular at Thierry Mugler, with whom she develops a peculiar artistic sensitivity towards feminine and spectacular forms.
In 1987 Venice becomes her adoptive city.
​After extensive experience working with Venetian ancient beads and creating necklaces and collectible jewelry, she launches her own brand ‘Aventurina Design’ which carries out a broader research on vintage Murano glass. Thus, lamps and lighting arise with exclusive design and refined colours: compositions where glass elements - signed by the greatest Murano glass masters - are re-worked with passion and care thanks to her craftsmen’s skilled hands.
Each lamp is a unique sculpture, a work of art in which beauty, tradition and sustainability come together to create a new style - both unmistakable and contemporary.

Particularly sensitive to the life cycle of precious materials Silvia Finiels recovers and transforms fine Murano glass and gives it a further and more refined existence...

In her renown iconoclastic exhibition at the Murano Glass Museum, Silvia Finiels underlined with eclectic force the concept that true creativity always maintains a vibrant link with the past, through the prism of her artistic innovation. Silvia interprets tradition not as a frustrating limit but as an innovative source of inspiration. Through her works Silvia functions as an an intellectual vortex seamlessly interweaving the past to modernity. Undoubtedly she represents an innovative standpoint: her works incarnate the theorem that beauty is eternal and uncorrupted by the process of mere time.
